With her “angelic voice” (Kölner Stadt Anzeiger) and “ethereal stage presence” (Sydney Morning Herald), soprano Siobhan Stagg is one of today’s leading lyric artists.
As a former member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin ensemble she has sung Pamina Die Zauberflöte, Tytania A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Micaëla Carmen, and has since appeared as Cendrillon (Lyric Opera of Chicago), Pamina and Susanna Le nozze di Figaro (Royal Opera House, Covent Garden), Sophie Der Rosenkavalier (Opernhaus Zürich; Staatsoper Berlin), Lady Magnesia (Bayerische Staatsoper) and many more.
Equally at home on the concert platform, Siobhan has performed with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Cleveland Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra, Wiener Symphoniker and Gürzenich Orchester Köln. Highlights of the 2025/26 season include Brahms’s Requiem (Minnesota Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony, Nord Deutscher Rundfunk), Mahler’s Fourth Symphony (Utah Symphony, Staatstheater Darmstadt), Mahler’s Second Symphony (BBC Philharmonic), Poulenc’s Stabat Mater (RTVE Orchestra Spain), Strauss’s Four Last Songs (Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano), Unsuk Chin’s Puzzles and Games (Staatskapelle Dresden), and the world premiere of Thomas Blomenkamp’s In Little Stars with Duisburger Symphoniker. She also returns to Orchestre National de Lyon for Chausson’s Poème de l’amour et de la mer, to Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse for New Year concerts, and to Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for Mozart’s Mass in C minor. Recital appearances this season include Berlin’s Kühlhaus and London’s Wigmore Hall.
In 2025/26 she returns to Staatsoper Berlin as Antonia Les Contes d’Hoffmann, debuts as Juliette Roméo et Juliette (State Opera South Australia), Adalgisa Norma (Irish National Opera), and appears in concert with Melbourne Symphony, Staatskapelle Dresden, Minnesota Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony, Nord Deutscher Rundfunk, Orchestre National de Lyon and Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. She also looks forward returning to London’s Wigmore Hall in recital with Jonathan Ware.
A Fellow of Trinity College, University of Melbourne, Stagg received the Key to the City of Mildura in 2023. Through the Siobhan Stagg Aria Award at Mildura Eisteddford and her role as a Board Director of the Melba Opera Trust, Siobhan is an active supporter of young singers.
